Brown Man Clothing Co. @ India Day Celebration

Sunday, August 9, 2009, downtown Toronto at Dundas Square was the location for the 10th annual India Day celebration and Brown Man Clothing Co. was there.
The day started off nice and then just before noon, the rain came down! And it came down hard and fast! Just when it was believed that this day was ruined, the rain stopped, as if Shiva herself put Mother Nature in a head lock and told her to get lost, and the sun came beaming down! And then... the dancing and music and the food started!
What a great day we had! We met so many fellow South Asians, sampled India Tea, got a few tips and tricks on how to meditate and best of all, we met Brown Man Clothing Co. fans!
We would like to thank everyone that came out to the event, stopped by the Brown Man Clothing Co. booth and said HEY! Deal was, buy a shirt, get your picture taken; well, to those that were not camera shy that is. If you want to see yourself, check it out here.
Thanks again to everyone that came out and supported us. See you at the next big event!

Brown Man Clothing Co. Models @ Fashion Fundraiser in Support of Mount Sinai

On May 12, 2009, Brown Man Clothing Co. participated in the FIRST ever, Fashion Fundraiser in Support of Mount Sinai Emergency Centre. We were the ONLY South Asian clothing line asked to participate in this one of a kind event!

What an event! The setting was perfect, everyone was hot, photograhers everywhere; it was just a great night period!

Then, the show started! Okay, yeah, it started a bit late but you gotta keep your audience waiting right? Well, it was worth the wait. The Brown Man Clothing Co. line was started with a funky bhangara beat, a classical Indian dancer came out and got the crowd started and then, the Brown Man Clothing Co. girls came out to strut their stuff! The crowd loved it! And we loved it! All of those weeks of practising paid off! We thank all of the girls that rocked the runway for us. We will be posting more pictures as they come.

Good In The Hood!

Being part of the Brown Man Clothing Co. marketing team is such a great job. Not only do I get to drink chai all day with my feet up, but I get to meet amazing people! I recently met Raquel Evita Saraswati, Executive Assistant to Irshad Manji. Not only was she fun to chat with, she had an idea for the Brown Man Clothing Co. line, and here it is; "It's All Good In The Hood". When we heard this suggestion, we were sold right away! It took some time to develop the idea and get it right. We are proud to say, we like it! What we are even more proud of is that we got Raquel's approval! A true honour! Raquel, this one is for you! We expect a picture of you in this one once we ship it out to you.

Miss Arab World - Drool Drool!

Ah, yes, another great relaxing day at Brown Man Clothing Co. Today I thought "I'm in the mood to find the most beautiful women in the world." Of course, that means typing in 'desi women' in any search browser and CAPOW! Hours and hours of just pure, hypnotic enjoyment!
Today, I came across the official Miss Arab World runner ups. I know what you're thinking, "How is that possible?!" Well, let me tell you, personally, viewing the Miss Universe and all, yeah, that gets a bit... how do I say it... *yawn* after awhile, even when Bob Barker was hosting it. But look at these women! You immediately look at their pretty faces instead of their bikini bodies and/or how they look in a ball gown. This is true beauty judging! Miss Iraq! Yummy! Miss Morocco! You're the reason why Hijabis Are Hot! Miss Palestine! Look at that naughty smile! Miss Kuwait! I can't wait!!! I think that the intrigue with these women is the fact that they are modestly dressed and so alluring as opposted to the giraffe giants and swim suits that we are exposed to here in the West. But, that could be me! Who knows!? What do you think?
